Choose the right shade for your skin tone:

Fair : Choose classic red - no pink undertones. Think: cherry red with cool undertones or burgendy.

Medium : darker, blue-based red. Think: blood red, or pinot noir.

Dark : choose something with an orange tint. Think: oxblood or plum red.

Moisturize with a Lip Conditioner - put it on and let it soak

Blot off any extra moisture from the conditioner with a tissue.

With a natural, neutral lip liner, begin on the outer edges of your lips and trace into the center.

Either use the tube, or a lip brush, apply your lipstick from the center of the lip to the outer corners.

For extra staying power, blot your lips lightly with a tissue.

Apply a little face powder, then go over your lips one more time with your lipstick.

Clean up around the edges of your lips with a little concealer.

To avoid red lipstick on your teeth: take a Q-tip, place it between your lips and pull it out.
