30 Movies To Look Forward To In 2017

I think we can all agree that 2016 has been an absolute disaster. While there were some good moments, overall I think everyone is looking forward for it to be over. We all sincerely hope that 2017 will be a better year, bringing us much more joy and happiness.

One way to move on from the year of nonsense, is to look forward to our future. The most exciting thing about 2017 might just be all the movies that are scheduled to come out. Some might be terrible, some might be amazing but there sure are a lot of them. We have sequels, superheroes and re-imaginings of classic stories, so lets forget 2016, and check out 30 movies that will be coming out in 2017.

XXX: Return of Xander Cage - January 20th

I bet you didn't even know this was coming. I bet you didn't know you wanted a sequel to XXX. Who doesn't need more Vin Diesel in their lives? Who knows how this movie will actually be, it just seems silly to make a sequel so long after the original that I didn't realize anyone loved that much...

A Dog's Purpose - Jan 27th

Oh great, we needed another thing to make us sob. I don't know that I can handle a movie about dogs dying, but if you are into it, it will be out soon.

Fifty Shades Darker - Feb 10th

If you want to get your sexy movie fix, hopefully this will satisfy you.

John Wick: Chapter 2 - Feb 10th

Keanu is back as John Wick for the follow up to the popular movie.

The Lego Batman Movie - Feb 10th

The Lego Movie was an enormous hit and Batman was just so great they gave him his own movie! Who didn't love Will Arnett's hilariously sarcastic Batman?

Logan - March 3rd

Hugh Jackman is back again as the wonderful Wolverine, this time a bit older. The X-Men franchise seems never ending so it'll be fun to see where they take it this time.

T2: Trainspotting - March 3rd

It's been very long since the original came out, but because the film industry refuses to let anything go, there is a sequel coming with the entire original cast. It's going to be interesting to see how that turns out!

Kong: Skull Island - March 10th

Did you know they still are making more King Kong movies? Well, they will never stop. Ever.

Beauty and the Beast - March 17th

This one is actually exciting, it looks like they worked really hard on it and Emma Watson was a pretty solid casting choice as Belle!

Power Rangers - March 24th

This movie looks pretty interesting. Some 90s nostalgia is potentially awesome, but there is also potential for disaster. We will have to wait and find out!

The Fate of the Furious - April 14th

I had no idea they were making more of these. It feels like these movies have been going on forever. Vin Diesel is just everywhere this year!

Guardians of the Galaxy Vol. 2 - May 5th

Another Vin Diesel movie! This time, he is a tiny tree. Super excited for this movie! The first Guardians movie was a surprise hit for Marvel,  about a bunch of misfits in space.

Alien: Covenant - May 19th

People just can't get enough of these aliens!

Pirates of the Caribbean: Dead Men Tell No Tales - May 26th

Pirates refuse to stop. Jack Sparrow is on another adventure that will no doubt result in some kind of goofy situation that he will get out of at the last possible second.

Baywatch - May 26th

Baywatch is coming back, but now it has Zac Efron and Dwayne Johnson. That's an interesting thought... maybe it will be great, maybe it will be awful. We will find out in May!

Wonder Woman - June 2nd

So far, this movie looks like it will be amazing. Finally, a female led super hero movie and it looks awesome.

The Mummy - June 9th

Sorry, but no Brendan Frasier in this Mummy reboot. Tom Cruise, and Russell Crowe have taken over.

Cars 3 - June 16th

So far, the teaser trailer looks a bit confusing. This is supposed to be a kids movie but the whole premise of the main character being in a terrible accident seems a little depressing. What ever happened to happy movies? D

Despicable Me 3 - June 30th

The minions will be back once again with Gru and the girls in the next adventure of the goofy series.

Spider-Man: Homecoming - July 7th

After a very long battle between Marvel and Sony, we will finally get a Marvel version of Spider-Man. He briefly appeared in Civil War and stole the show as the first actually age appropriate Peter Parker.

It - September 8th

Remaking horror movies can go very badly or very well. We will have to wait until September to see how this goes!

Blade Runner 2049 - October 6th

Star studded cast led by Harrison Ford and Ryan Gosling might make for quite the awesome movie!

Kingsman: The Golden Circle - October 6th

It was almost as if they didn't expect the first one to be such a hit, but it's fun that they are making a sequel! The cast list is pretty incredible with Julianne Moore, Halle Berry, Colin Firth, Jeff Bridges, Channing Tatum, Mark Strong and even Elton John!

Thor: Ragnarok - November 3rd

Everyone's favorite Asgadian god is back in his next adventure. The Hulk will be joining him and hopefully they will explain why they didn't come down and take a side during Civil War!

Justice League - November 17th

This movie is going to give us DC's answer to the Avengers. All their best heroes teaming up to fight for the greater good. It'll be fun to see how all these characters interact together.

Star Wars: Episode VIII - December 15th

Returning to the story after meeting the new members of the Star Wars family will be great. It will also give us the chance to see Carrie Fisher playing Leia for the last time.

Pitch Perfect 3 - December 22nd

The girls are back to sing you more a capella hits. A lot of the main cast is returning including Anna Kendrick, Rebel Wilson, Brittany Snow and Hailee Steinfeld.

Jumanji - December 22nd

Remakes apparently will not go out of style. A remake with Dwyane Johnson, Kevin Hart and Jack Black is set to come out in December.
