5 Freeze/Defrost Food Hacks That Are A Major Save Of Time And Money

You might already know how to freeze fresh berries for later, but did you know that you can preserve milk the same way?

Not only will these quick 10 Freeze/Defrost hacks help you to save time and money, they may even help you to eat healthier!

Take a read through and try them out for yourself:

1. Two-Pots Defrost Trick

Defrost frozen hamburgers quickly and evenly with this hack. Put patties in a plastic bag and place them on top of an upside-down aluminum pot. Fill another pot with room-temperature water and place it on the meat.

Your hamburgers will be defrosted in 5-10 minutes.

2. Rolling Pin And Chopsticks For Ground Beef

Portion ground beef into freezer bags. Before freezing roll it thin with the rolling pin and then make a grid in the patty with your chopstick. When you're ready to defrost, break off as many pecies as you like.

3. Frozen Avocado Hack

Freezing whole avocados just creates a squishy mess. Instead, puree them in a food processor and add a teaspoon of lime juice per avocado. Store it in an airtight container for up to 5 months.

4. Bacon Grease

As you know, pouring bacon grease down the drain is bad for the pipes. Instead, pour the leftover fat into an ice cube tray. Use the grease cubes for future cooking, in salad dressings or for fries!

5. Milk

You might not believe it, but milk can actually be frozen for later use. Since milk expands when frozen, before storing it in the freezer at 0ºF, pour a little out into a glass. It can take up to three days for the jug to defrost.
