Millie Taylor-Morrison got married this past weekend, finding love 25 years after her first husband passed away. She was previously married for 41 years, but after spending eight years seeing a wonderful man, her family was excited that they decided to get married.
She looked amazing on her wedding day, wearing a dress she designed herself! I can't even sew a button on shirt, but this woman designed her own fashion-forward gown and looked amazing!
Her granddaughter shared her story on Facebook stating that "age is just a number and everyone can find love again."
"This is my beautiful grandmother, Millie Taylor-Morrison, who was married over the weekend at 86-years-old. She just turned 86 one week ago and her new husband will be 86 in December. My grandmother was married to my grandfather for 41 years when he passed away. She found love again almost 25 years later and our family couldn't be happier for her. This is a true testament that age is just a number and everyone can find love again." - Khadija Elkharbibi
The New Jersey-based bride met her new husband, Harold, at church and noticed him because he was "an impeccably dressed man". (She obviously has an eye for style!) When Harold got sick, she offered for him to come live with her instead of going into a nursing home. When he got better after about a year, she couldn't have him living in her home if they weren't married.
"I'm a Christian woman and I want to live a Christian life. We decided that even though we were in our twilight years, we wanted to be pleasing in God's eyes." Millie Taylor-Morrison
When they began to plan the wedding she knew exactly what she wanted to wear. She had a little bit of help with the sketch but the idea was all her own!
"I had a vision of what I'd like this dress to be, so I asked a young man in my church who is an artist to sketch it and I took it to the dressmaker. Purple and lavender are my favorite colors." - Millie Taylor-Morrison
The dress turned out exactly as she planned and she says she felt wonderful on her special day. Check out the details on this stunning gown!
As for how her life has changed since the wedding, she says it is pretty much the same except one sweet detail:
"It's wonderful. Things haven't changed too much. We always pray over breakfast and he always says, 'I love my Millie.' Now he looks at me and says, 'You're my wife now,' and I say, 'And you're my boo.' " - Millie Taylor-Morrison
Congratulations to the adorable and stylish couple!
