Cops often get a bad rap, a few bad apples completely eroding the public trust in the institution of policing and community safety, but it is the minority of officers. We should always pay attention to the miscarriage of justice, but we should also pay close attention to those officers who go above and beyond the call of duty to help those in need.

Officer Danny Antillon, of the Glendora Police Department, in California, received a call about someone in need of assistance. When he arrived, he found a woman sitting on a bench with her walking cane, not wearing any shoes.

She explained that someone had stolen her shoes and her feet were in terrible pain. Officer Antillon immediately decided to act.

What Officer Antillon did next will leave you speechless.

Antillon went went to a nearby Goodwill store, using his own money, and purchased her a pair of shoes. He also bought her a jacket, a bottle of water, and a bus pass so that she could get to wherever she was supposed to be heading.

Another cop was on hand to witness and document the series of events. The local police department found out about the interaction and posted it to their Facebook page.

All police officers take an oath to "protect and serve." And Officer Antillon took his oath literally.

Officer Antillon, thank you for your public service.
