A Senior Rescue Cat Is So Handsome He Received This Letter From A Secret Admirer

There's no denying that Simba the rescue cat looks great for his age. The 11-year-old domestic long hair has fluffy orange fur and stunning green eyes, but most importantly he carries himself with a confidence that lets his personality shine through.

It's no wonder the staff at Portland's Oregon Humane society fell in love with this cat, but he's also becoming a local celebrity.

After seeing Simba's photograph in the paper, someone hand-wrote this dapper cat a letter just to tell him how great he is.

The letter reads:

Dear Simba,

I am writing you on behalf of my sister who saw a story about  you in a local newspaper, Boomer and Senior. She wanted me to tell you that she thinks you are the HANDSOMEST cat she has ever seen. She fell in love immediately with your golden eyes and your beautiful fur coat.

When she read that you are diabetic, she wished so much that she could give you a home, because she too is diabetic. Unfortunately, she is very allergic to cats, so she can't have a kitty of her own, but she wanted me to let you know that she is your admirer from afar.

We hope that your fantastic caretakers show you the pretty birds on the front of this card and read to you the praise from you devotee and hopefully, friend.

With affection, Allergic Admirer

PS: We hope you find your perfect home soon! Wishing you a long and happy love-filled life.

While Simba is happy to receive fan-mail, staff at the center are hoping this publicity will help him find a good home.

Simba is diabetic, and has neuropathy (numbness) in all 4 paws that makes it hard to walk around. While cats with these special needs tend to stay in the shelter longer, Simba's caretakers say with a loving home and some exercise he could easily cure his conditions.

Until then, Cara O'Neil, the center's web manager, told Love Meow that this "sweet, mellow boy" is "receiving excellent care from our veterinary staff."

The shelter also has other cats with disabilites and special needs, so be sure to check them out if you live nearby.
