Police have confirmed that an actor has been shot dead on a film set in Brisbane, Australia.
The 20-year-old man, who's name has not been released, died following "a workplace accident" on the set of a music video for award-winning band, Bliss n Eso.
Police have made it clear that this was "accidental" and there is "no current risk to the public." Detective Inspector Tom Armitt said the shooting was "in relation to filming a music video."
"Several firearms were discharged during the scene by several actors," he said. "As a result of those firearms one of the actors has received wounds to the chest and subsequently died from his injuries. We don't know how these injuries occurred. Any investigation involving sudden death of another person will always be the subject of a criminal investigation until proven otherwise. We have scientific officers present, members of the ballistics unit present and they'll process the crime scene for a number of hours yet."
Bliss n Eso management released a statement, saying:
"We are able to confirm the death of a person occurred today at the filming of a Bliss n Eso music clip. The band were (sic) not on site at the time. The video production crew and our team are currently working with the police in their investigation and we are unable to provide further comment at this time."
Bliss n Eso themselves released a statement, as well:
It's always sad to lose someone so young, especially in an accident that could have been prevented. Our thoughts and prayers are with the young man's family.
