Victoria's Secret's Competition Has An Awesome New Product For Plus Size Women

The Average American woman has a bra size of 34DD and it is estimated that 65% of women are considered plus size. Retailers don't seem to notice that their customer base has changed with companies like Victoria's Secret still ignoring potential plus size clientele. Enter Adore Me . Adore Me is an online retailer that was founded in 2011 after realizing a there was a lack of variety and affordability in the lingerie world - and a lack of size options. They have taken the market by storm, generating $42.7 million in 2015 alone. While it has not really come close to Victoria's Secret's $7.7 Billion dollars, it is still really impressive. The newest addition to their plus size lingerie line is a collection of Bralettes - a previously unattainable article of clothing for those with a larger bust.

Most companies - even those that do plus size - tend to ignore the bralette style because it isn't easy to find a comfortable way to hold up a bigger chest without the help of wires. But after 10 months of research, Adore me has found a way to have the less constrictive Bralette-Style by using comfortable mesh, wider straps and pretty lace detailing that go up to size 4XL.

This is good news for all plus sized women really, even if you aren't interested in this style in particular, at least you can see that the world is starting to make a wider variety of clothing. Soon, we will be far away from the terrible days of big-busted women being forced to wear ugly boxed bras or doubling up on sports bras.

Plus size clothing sales should account for a lot more of the total retail sales given that "65 percent of American woman are considered plus size, but the category represents only about 17 percent to 18 percent of apparel sales." according to Mariah Chase, CEO of plus-size retailer Eloquii. A lot of this issue is likely to do with the lack of retailers who offer plus size lines. A growing number of online stores have been promoting a wider size range like Adore me, including ModCloth, Forever21 and H&M, but the reality is that there still isn't enough choice for the majority of women out there.

Good job to the Adore Me company for improving the choice selection for plus size girls!
