Does the name Vienna Girardi ring any bells?

She was the winner of the final rose from Jake Pavelka on season 14 of The Bachelor. However, three months after their engagement, the couple split. Six years after her heartbreak, she became engaged to NASCAR Driver Todd Allen and back in June, the pair announced that they were expecting twins.

Vienna, 31, shared the news on her Instagram page and kept her followers updated on her progress.

Unfortunately, not too long after revealing the gender of her babies, Vienna took to Facebook to announce that she suffered a miscarriage that put her own life in danger.

On Sunday, August 14, Vienna wrote a heartbreaking post to let her fans know that her twin daughters "went to heaven on Aug 5th."

"On Aug 3rd, I went in for an ultra sound bc [sic] the Perinatologist notice [sic] one of my twins had more fluids than the other which was the first sign of TTTS (Twin to Twin Transfusion Syndrome) this is when one twin takes more nutrients than the other," she wrote. "They said that it did look like it had improved over the last week though."

"Unfortunately, that was not the case and that evening my water broke due to the amniotic sacs rupturing," continued Vienna. "I spent the next 2 days in the hospital trying everything to save them."

The doctors warned her that she had to go through labor to avoid putting her life at risk, but at only 18 weeks, the babies had less than 5% chance of surviving.

"...As any mother would do I did everything to save them but their hearts stopped beating on day two which is also when I went into a septic shock with 104 fever," Vienna added.

The former reality star was rushed to the OR for an emergency surgery and had to spend 4 days in the ICU fighting for her life. Vienna is now recovering at home, and has asked her followers to "respect my privacy and allow me to grieve."

She donated the twins to science and is sharing her story in hopes that it may "be able to save another women [sic] who has twins with TTTS."

"I don't know why this happened and I pray the Lord gives me strength to understand why he needed my little girls," she continued. "This was the hardest decision I have ever had to make in my life but I knew my little girls were in Heaven already and the pain I feel I would never want any mother to ever feel," Girardi added.

"RIP My Sweet Angels. Your mommy will never forget you and I loved you both with my entire heart."
