"American Chopper" Is Coming Back To TV

For seven great years, the Teutel family gave us weekly entertainment and drama...not to mention awesome motorcycles.

The guys on American Chopper worked tirelessly to create amazing custom-style motorcycles for their clients. There was Paul Sr., the owner of Orange County Choppers, and the boss of everyone.

Then, of course, there was Paul Jr. (Paulie), who yearned to get out from under his father's wing at the shop. He had his own creative ideas and the two constantly fought. Eventually, Paulie left to start his own shop.

And who could forget Mikey Teutel, the comic relief of it all?

In 2010, the show ended its seven season run after an explosive argument between Paul Sr. and Paul Jr.. However, they weren't off TV for long, as Paul Jr. opened a rival chopper shop across the street from his dad. American Chopper: Senior vs. Junior premiered just seven months after the original show was cancelled. Two seasons after it started, Senior vs. Junior was cancelled.

It's been five years since the Teutel family has been on our screens, but the wait is finally over!

Discovery Channel announced that they will be reviving the original American Chopper show and the Teutel family is on board!

"The Teutuls have been on a wild ride, and it certainly isn't ending anytime soon," the network said. "Paul Sr. has revamped Orange County Choppers "“ turning it into a complex with a shop, café, bowling alley, restaurant and of course, the showroom "“ but all that didn't come without a hefty price tag and he is feeling the burden of a high overhead and a lack of foot traffic. Meanwhile, Paul Jr. has also felt the sting of a rough economy "“ with his business built solely on high-dollar custom-builds and commissions becoming tougher to come by, Paul Jr. stresses about the long-term stability of his own shop, Paul Jr. Designs especially now that he has his own family."

"American Chopper was one of Discovery's most popular series ever," said Rich Ross, Group President of Discovery. "Everyone is eager to see what the Teutul family has been up to. This winter, you'll find out."

There's no word as to whether Mikey Teutel or Vinny DiMartino will return, but we're sure there will be more information as things move on.

The show averaged 3.4 million viewers, and this new show will "set out [to] reclaim their preeminent bike brands and "“ hopefully, rebuild some sort of relationship ... with A-list celebrities, world famous athletes and Forbes 100 businesses as clients, millions of dollars and their brands' reputations are on the line with every signature build."

There is no release date set for the new series, as Discovery has just stated it will start winter 2017.
