Ice cream is one of life's simple pleasures, and if you're like me, then you know that anytime is the right time for the cold treat. Especially if it involves Ben & Jerry's.
But as much much as I would love to enjoy a daily scoop or two (okay, maybe three) of chocolate or vanilla ice cream filled with chunks of cookie dough, brownies, and drizzled in fudge, the number on the scale doesn't always agree with my choices.
So when I first heard of the news of Ben & Jerry's new line of "healthy" frozen treats, I was beyond delighted. Trust me, you will be too.
The company just announced that they've got a lineup of new calorie-conscious flavors for those of us who don't want to give up ice cream while trying to maintain a healthy diet.
"Our fans have often said they can’t always trust themselves with a pint of Ben & Jerry’s in their freezers,” said Dena Wimette, Ben & Jerry’s innovation manager. "We’re hoping this new line of light ice cream will allow them to indulge in Ben & Jerry’s with a little less guilt."
Moo-phoria, which includes three new flavors, has lower sugar and fat content than Ben & Jerry's regular pints, but it's still packed with enough cookies and dough so it doesn't feel like you're depriving yourself of the good stuff.
