Ed Sheeran is much more than a chart-topping singer, he's also a hit-making machine!
In honor of his new album, ÷ (Divide), we take a look at some of the other songs he's written, but not necessarily performed.
In an interview with Carson Daly on 97.1 AMP Radio, Sheeran reveals that he actually wrote Justin Bieber's chart-topping tune Love Yourself. The catchy song was one of Bieber's most successful singles in the UK, but it was originally intended for Sheeran's own album, ÷ (Divide).
When Sheeran decided not to use it, Justin picked it up and did his own thing with the single. Modest as ever, Sheeran does attribute the success of the single to the work that Justin put into it. But we know why it was loved by so many!
Another popular Bieber tune, Cold Water, was also half-written by Sheeran. Can you hear his style in it?
That might explain why I surprised myself by tapping my toes along to Bieber tunes!
Here are a few more hits written by Sheeran, but performed by others:
One Direction - Little Things (2013)
Jessie Ware - Say You Love Me (2014)
The Weeknd - Dark Times (2015)
Rudimental (ft. Ed Sheeran) - Lay It All On Me (2015)
Matt Terry - When Christmas Comes Around (2016)
Lupe Fiasco - Old School Love (2013)
Tori Kelly - I Was Made For Loving You (2015)
Hilary Duff - Tattoo (2015)
I had no idea he had written so many of these!
Here's a sample of his new single: Shape Of You!
