The Next Bond: These 8 Actors Are The Rumored Favorites For The Role

When Daniel Craig first emerged from the water in 2005, dripping wet and ripped, there was no doubt in our minds that this edgy new blond bond would be one of the best ever. Now, three installments later, it seems less and less likely that Craig will suit up for a fourth.

The question is not just who will be the next Bond, but what kind of Bond will he be? Craig broke the mold of talk, dark and slick James Bonds we had all become accustomed to.

Now, 8 new actors  are on the shortlist for the next 007 and we definitely don't envy MGM's difficult decision.

Although another Daniel Craig Bond film isn't completely out of the question, we think there are some strong contenders for the role:

Idris Elba, 43

He plays the impulsive and edgy detective, Luther in the dark British crime drama of the same name. Although Alba believes that he is too old to play the suave secret agent, but we think he would be perfect for the part! I mean, just look into those deep, penetrating brown eyes - he knows all your secrets.

Michael Fassbender, 39

His versatility as an actor makes him a great choice too - Michael has been everything from Spartan warrior to Steve Jobs, this guy is a chameleon. A smokin' hot chameleon. He looks great in a suit and at 6 feet tall, he's got a good combination of blond and classic bond.

Luke Evans, 37

In 2015, GQ readers picked Welsh actor, Luke Evans to be the next Bond. He's built his career as a stage performer before breaking into Hollywood as the star of the 2010 Clash of the Titans remake. He has all of the classic Bond traits: tall, dark, handsome with 'a hint of the Devil' in him.

Charlie Hunnam, 36

Now here's a rough and ready Bond - Charlie Hunnam is well known for his role as Jackson "Jax" Teller from Sons of Anarchy. He would definitely carry Craig's torch of the rugged blond Bond.

Tom Hiddleston, 35

We're not so sure about Tom. His role as Jonathan Pine in the British-American television series The Night Manager showed that he could pull off the spy persona, but he's just too friendly. Even though Loki was a dark and troubled character, there is still something about Tom that finds a softness in his characters that Bond very rarely shows.

Oh, but those eyes...

Aidan Turner, 33

You might not recognize this steamy Irish actor without his hobbit feet or period piece suits, but he's another man with the classic bond style. He is best known for his role as Ross Poldark in the British television drama Poldark.

He's versatile too - just look at that cheeky grin!

James Norton, 31

One of the younger men on the list, Norton is well known for his role as ex-convict Tommy Lee Royce in Happy Valley - a British crime drama. He was acclaimed for the role and described as being devilishly handsome. As Bond, he could bring a more sinister sheen to the clean cut agent.

Jamie Bell, 30

The youngest of the Bond hopefuls, you might recognize Bell from his debut role in Billy Elliot. He has come a long way from dance, but that background might come in handy during the fight scenes. He's proven that he can handle darker roles in films like Filth and Snowpiercer.
