No matter how big or small, weddings are special. For a number of reasons some people consider their nuptials as one of the most important days of their lives.

Nicole Wakefield, Arfon Williams and their pooch Mili make a perfect example. The couple from Llanfairfechan, North Wales met 10 years ago while they were walking their dogs.

"I'd take Mili out and we used to see each other and talk about how the dogs were, and we set up a local dog walk together." explained Nicole.

Unfortunately, Nicole was diagnosed with terminal bowel cancer earlier in the month. Realizing they may not have much time left together, the couple decided to get married with the help of the Ysbyty Gwynedd hospital staff, nurses and of course Mili.

They planned a wedding in under a week and chose Mili as a bridesmaid. Mili has been Nicole's sidekick since she was a puppy and even brought the couple together, so the decision to have her by their side was a no-brainer.

The chief bridesmaid looked extra adorable with a yellow carnation attached to her collar throughout the ceremony.

"Mili's part of the family. She really brought us together, and we didn't want her to miss out on the wedding." said Nicole. "She was watching really intently while we were signing the marriage register." she added.

"We can honestly say that our wedding day was the happiest day of our lives." said Nicole. I bet having Mili by their side helped a lot with that!
