If you're like me and need 3 cups of coffee to just get you out of bed in the morning then get excited. A recent study from York University has revealed that coffee actually has health benefits!
This is much better news than when people only talked about the bad effects of coffee. Coffee haters, as I call them, were starting to get into my brain. There was serious concern that we would have to stop consuming the good stuff all together.
But thankfully the wonderful people at York University in Toronto have given us the go-ahead to keep drinking the wonderful morning elixir. Researchers analyzed the habits of 3,271 heart attack survivors and discovered that patients who drank 1-2 cups of coffee a day were 20% less likely to die from heart damage prematurely than people who didn't drink coffee at all.
Now obviously this doesn't mean replace your water with coffee.
We all still need to practice moderation. But many studies have shown us other benefits as well, including:
- Reducing the risk of type 2 diabetes
- Relieving pain
- Helping with depression
How many cups do you drink in a day? Do you really think coffee can be beneficial to your health? Let us know!
