Candied Walnuts Are So Yummy, You'll Want Them on Everything!

Print Recipe

Candied Walnuts are just too good. Use them to top your favorite desserts like strudels or ice cream sundaes, and you’re in for a real treat.

It’s so easy to make these and have them on hand to add some pizzazz to a dish, or really just use them for plain old snacking. Make sure you watch the sugars as they cook - you don’t want burnt candied walnuts! Enjoy!

Ingredients:

  • 1 cup of halved, de-shelled walnuts
  • 1 tablespoon of butter
  • ¼ cup of white sugar
  • 1 teaspoon of water

Directions:

Prep a baking sheet with wax paper and place it next to your stove with some tongs or a spatula handy.

In a non-stick skillet, add your sugar, butter, and walnuts.

Over medium heat stir constantly until you ingredients begin to melt.

Once you start seeing the caramel brown, add in your teaspoon of water.

Nuts will be deep golden brown, and sticky - immediately transfer to the baking sheet and separate them in one layer to keep them from sticking together.

Allow nuts to cool for 10 minutes, and store in an airtight container.
