Carol Burnett Is Coming Back To TV

When talking about the best comedic actors, it would be wrong to exclude Carol Burnett. For 11 years, The Carol Burnett show left us in absolute stitches week after week.

Over the course of 279 episodes, Burnett broke barriers as a female comedian who was starring in a prime-time show. In 2007, The Carol Burnett Show was one of Time magazine's 100 best TV shows of all time. Perhaps her most famous character, Mrs. Wiggins, is still quoted by people today.

The show returned for nine episodes in 1991, and a few other reunion specials along the way. Fans of the show will tell you that while others may try, nothing will ever come close to matching the hilarity and uniqueness of The Carol Burnett Show.

After the show ended, Burnett still acted regularly, taking guest and recurring roles in many TV shows and movies.

But now, the moment we've all been waiting for...Carol Burnett is coming back to TV with her own show.

Comedy legend Carol Burnett will be starring in a new Netflix TV show, called A Little Help With Carol Burnett. The episodes will be a half-hour in length, and will be an unscripted comedy with Burnett talking to a panel of kids. Celebrities and everyday people will bring their 'real world problems' to the kids and try to get some advice.

"Someone once asked me how old I am inside," said Burnett. "I thought about it, and came up with, "˜I'm about eight.' So it's going to be a lot of fun playing with kids my age."

"We're thrilled Carol is bringing her unique sensibilities to Netflix," said Bela Bajaria, VP, Content Acquisition for Netflix. "Carol is truly a legend in the entertainment industry with unprecedented success and fandom across TV, film and the stage, and we are both honored and excited to work with her."

"We couldn't be more excited to be working on our first series with Netflix, and to be working with a comedy legend like Carol Burnett is truly a dream come true," said Mark Bracco, EVP, Programming & Development for Dick Clark productions.

The show is set to premiere in 2018, but you can watch a trailer for it here.
