Chill Your Drink Instantly, Without Ice Cubes

The Wine Cellarage

As the weather gets warmer, you may be finding yourself reaching for a cool drink to keep you comfortable.

With the summer sun, you will find your glass of wine will get warm in no time. So how do you keep it cool?

If you add ice cubes, your delicious vino will become diluted as they melt in the warm summer weather.

So how do you avoid taking a sip of warm wine without watering down the great taste of your drink?

This simple hack will keep your drink cool and refreshing while preserving the taste.

All you have to do is add frozen grapes to your glass. They will immediately cool down your drink without diluting the liquid and they taste great after!

Ray Abercromby, Director of Doyen Wines Ltd, agrees that this is a great hack to keep your drink cool in the summer.

"It's a great idea, and works for both reds (which are often too warm - the phrase "drink at room temperature" is centuries-old; houses were colder then) and white," said Abercomby.

"Ice is fine, but it dilutes the wine, and nobody wants that. Frozen grapes keep their (frozen) juice inside the grape, so there is very little dilution or flavour transfer taking place. It's best done by putting a few frozen grapes (two or three) into the glass, and swirling the glass around. The effects are almost immediate," he continues.

Just store a bunch of grapes in the freezer and use them as an alternative to ice cubes in the summer.

"Unsurprisingly, red grapes are perfect for red wines, and white grapes go well with white wine, but they won't pass much flavor through the skin, so it's not a huge deal if you only have one variety," writes the Daily Mail.

This is just one step closer to sangria and I like it!
