10 Cleaning Hacks Using Things You Already Have In Your House

Cleaning is one of the most annoying things you need to do to take care of your home. It's obviously required, but a lot of us are not necessarily the best at it.

Sometimes, buying all the cleaning products can get really expensive as well, so we found some tips and tricks that you can use to clean your home without breaking the bank. Check out these cleaning tips below and try them out in your house.

Clean your microwave with a lemon

Slice a lemon in half and squeeze the juices into about 1/2 cup of water. Throw in the lemon halves and microwave it for 3 minutes. Don't open the door right away though, the steam from the boiling water is what will help you get that microwave clean! After about five minutes you can start wiping the inside. Most stains should easily wipe off with a towel!

Vinegar will clean out a shower head

Use a plastic bag with vinegar in it and attach it on the shower head for an hour. Wipe it clean when you are done and you will completely unclog your shower head without chemicals.

Your hair dryer can remove water rings

Water rings are an annoying thing and tricky to remove. But, if you use a hair dryer to heat up the area before wiping it with some olive oil, you can actually get rid of them!

Coca-Cola can clean a toilet

If you can't stand the scent of regular toilet bowl cleaners, or just don't have any handy, you can use a can of coke. Make sure you cover the bowl thoroughly and then let it sit for an hour. Scrub like usual and it should come out sparkling.

Use olive oil to condition your leather couch

Get rid of scratches that your pets leave on your leather sofa with olive oil and a soft cloth. Make sure you rub it in really well in small circles. If there is any oil residue just use a paper towel to buff it off. It won't get rid of any deep gashes but it will definitely be better than before!

Lemons get rid of hard water stains

Rub half of a lemon on any limescale on your shower fixtures and let the juices sit for five to ten minutes. Rinse it with warm water and you should be left with shiny fixtures!

Clean your mattress with baking soda

Sprinkle baking soda all over your mattress and let it sit for a while. If you add a couple drops of essential oils before you sprinkle it around, you will not only have a clean mattress, but it will smells great. Rub the mixture in and let sit for at least an hour. Vacuum up all of the baking soda and you will be super impressed by how great it looks.

Dawn and Vinegar make the best tub cleaner

One part Dawn dish soap and one part vinegar sprayed onto a bath tub will get it sparkling clean in no time. Let it sit for an hour and wipe it off and there will be no more stains.

Rubber gloves will remove pet hair

If you own a cat or a dog, you probably have just accepted pet hair as part of your life. But when you have company coming over, sometimes they expect to sit on a surface that isn't going to leave fur all over their pants. Use a rubber glove and run your hand across it and you will be able to easily remove all the hair.

Clean stains off of your microfiber couch with rubbing alcohol

I have owned a microfiber couch before, and cleaning it was always tricky. I wish I had known this trick! There is a tutorial for how to clean it using rubbing alcohol that won't leave more water marks on the fabric. Now your couch will be good as new without anyone knowing that you spilled all over it. So the next time you need to clean something in yout home, try out one of these tricks before you run to the store in search of another product to add to the shelf!
