The Columbine shooting in 1999 was a true American tragedy.
13 innocent people lost their lives to an active gunman suffering from mental disabilities.
Now, 17 years later, one of the victims is speaking out to the family of her attacker. Anne Marie Hochhalter took to Facebook and posted an emotional letter to Eric Harris' mother, Sue Klebold, forgiving her and wishing her the best in her future.
This post came on the heels of Klebold releasing a book she wrote.
You need to see this letter. Hochhalter's words are incredibly powerful.
My personal favorite quote from the note is "Bitterness is like swallowing a poison pill and expecting the other person to die." Such a great way to view life and remember that we all need to move on.
Anne Marie's message was met with mixed emotion, some wondering how she could ever forgive the family whose son caused this problem, while others were inspired by her courage.
