Crosby is a sweet dog who unfortunately lost his best cat friend and his best dog friend within six months of each other and was left all alone. He was still a very good boy, just something was missing.
His owner hadn't realized how lonely he was until one day when she came home and Crosby was acting unusual. The owner said that "instead of our normal routine of Crosby howling with excitement to see me, he led me straight to the bath tub."
While you may not think that the bath tub is a normal place to lead your owner, Crosby had a plan. Inside the tub was a tiny little kitten!
The homeowner was completely surprised by the little kitten. They said "this kitty was meowing up a storm. I've never seen this kitten before, and although I do have a doggy door, it's way too high off the ground for this little baby to have snuck in. Seems to me that Crosby must have brought her inside. She has an uncanny resemblance to the kitty friend he lost 6 months ago."
Crosby needed a friend, but he didn't know whether or not his owner would let her stay...
With the surprise house guest comfortable, it was time to try and figure out where this cat came from. "I talked to the neighbors surrounding my house and she's been seen before, but no one knows who owns her. Then I took kitty to the vet to see if she was microchipped, and she isn't. She was however spayed just a few days ago, and is thought to be about 4 months old."
They were told that if they were to bring the kitten to the shelter she would probably be put down. The local shelter had over 300 kittens and cats already, and no room to take on any more. The vet said that they could either keep the kitten or put it outside and hope it would go home, but Crosby had already made the choice for them both.
The two have become fast friends. Crosby was thrilled to have company in the house again and it is almost too cute to handle.
They have become the best of friends and are never apart.
