Gumbo is one of those meals that everyone loves but not everyone knows how to make. Well, turns out it is a lot easier than you thought because all you need is to throw all your ingredients in the slow cooker and then boom! Yummy meal ready to go!
Really there are only two steps to this, add everything in and wait then add in the rest and wait and then snack time! So simple! Check it out!
- 1 pound chicken breast, cut into bite sized pieces
- 1 pound sausage
- 1 pound shrimp, raw, shells removed
- 1 onion, diced
- 1 green pepper, diced
- 1 jalapeno pepper, diced
- 3 ribs celery, diced
- 1 can diced tomatoes
- 3 teaspoons garlic, minced
- 2 cups chicken broth
- 1 tablespoon cajun spice
- 1 teaspoon thyme
- 1 teaspoon oregano
- 1 1/3 cups rice, cooked
Add your chicken, sausage into the slow cooker with the onion, green pepper, jalapeno, celery, tomatoes, garlic chicken broth and spices.
Stir everything together then cover and cook on low for 6-7 hours.
Then add in your shrimp and rice, and mix it in. Cook for another 30 minutes on low.
Serve and enjoy!
