Eddie Redmayne is a true treasure, we all knew that.
Redmayne started his acting career in 1998 with a couple guest spots on TV shows. Before becoming a full-time actor, he modeled for Burberry and other (albeit smaller) projects.
Over the course of his career, Redmayne has starred in Les Miserables, The Other Boleyn Girl, The Theory of Everything, The Danish Girl, and most recently, Fantastic Beasts And Where To Find Them. Eddie Redmayne has won Oscars, Golden Globes, and BAFTA Awards for his film career.
Of course, he also has an incredible stage career, earning a Tony Award in 2010 for his role in Red.
His trademark freckles and glowing smile, coupled with his utter humbleness, make him one of the most well-loved actors in Hollywood.
Now, Eddie Redmayne can scratch one more accomplishment off his list: he's received an OBE, or Order of the British Empire.
Redmayne and his wife, Hannah Bagshawe, were at Windsor castle on December 2nd where he received the prestigious honor for services to drama. He was honored by Her Majesty Queen Elizabeth the II.
"It was absolutely wonderful. Also being with such extraordinary people the whole experience is incredibly humbling and also getting to be in Windsor Castle is breathtaking, around Christmas as well with all the decorations," said Eddie Redmayne. "[receiving his OBE] is something that I had never thought of and it was never in my wildest imagination."
This honor tops off a great year for Redmayne. An OBE, and the birth of his daughter Iris will make 2016 a year to remember.
