Elderly Couple Live Out Their Lives In A Tragically Beautiful Way

For a lot of people, they spend their life trying to find the one person who will make them happy as long as they live.

For 96-year-old Jeanette Toczko and her husband, 95-year-old Alexander, they were lucky to find that person at such a young age.

The couple met when they were just 8 years old, and starting dating as kids. In 1940, they got married and stayed together for 75 years.

"Their hearts beat as one from as long as I can remember," the couple's daughter, Aimee Toczko-Cushman said.

"My dad carried around a picture of my mother in her Holy Communion outfit in his wallet," said Aimee.

Alexander was an avid golf player, and his loved teaching his grandkids to love the game, as well.

Unfortunately, Alexander had a fall and broke his hip, so he could no longer play every day. He and Jeanette still had each other, however. And that's all that mattered.

After Alexander broke his hip, his health started to deteriorate.

"He was going fast," Aimee said.

Jeanette's health also started to go downhill not long after, so the family had a local hospice bring a bed to their home so the couple could spend their final days together.

"They wanted to go in their own bed holding hands and in each other's arms," Amy recalls of her parents' wishes.

Towards the end, Jeanette kept asking her kids one question.

"She kept asking us, "˜What is today, what is today?' We said it was June. She said it's June 29th, and June 29th is their 75th wedding anniversary," said their daughter. "And we said happy anniversary, and my mother was thrilled to death because it was their anniversary and she knew that he was going and that they had made it to 75 years."

The family then left the room, and Alexander took his last breaths.

"I told my mother he was gone," Aimee said. "She hugged him and she said, "˜See this is what you wanted. You died in my arms and I love you. I love you, wait for me, I'll be there soon.'"

Jeanette passed not long after...still in her husband's arms.

"Even the hospice nurse said it was the most incredible thing to see the two of them taking those last breaths together," their daughter said, "They both entered the pearly gates holding hands."
