Firefighter Begs Lifeless Dog To 'Come On Buddy' As He Performs Miracle Rescue

A fire broke out in a Santa Monica Apartment complex, firefighters responded quickly to try to put out the flames. One fire fighter found a small dog who had succumbed to the smoke but he didn't give up.

The fireman immediately began to give the pup CPR and didn't give up until the dog was breathing again! It was a terrifying few minutes for Andrew Klein, but he knew he had to try to save this little dog.

The department posted to their Facebook page that "during the firefight, firefighters searching the interior for victims discovered an unresponsive dog that was overcome by heat and smoke. The dog was quickly pulled from the structure not breathing and without a pulse. Firefighters performed CPR and provided oxygen through our pet oxygen masks, a standard piece of equipment that all Santa Monica Fire Department units carry."

The mom of the pup looked on while the firefighters brought her dog back to life and her expression says it all.

I can only imagine the relief she must have been flooded with when his heart started to beat and he started to breath on his own.

With Klien pleaded "come on, buddy" and "at-a-boy", the dog started breathing. After 20 minutes was even able to stand on his own - when he wasn't being scooped into his moms arms that is.

He was brought to an animal hospital for further care, but thanks to these brave firefighters, this dog was able to survive.

No one else was hurt in the blaze and the apartment's occupant is being assisted by Red Cross.
