Back to school time means it's time to have some fun with the kids to break up the monotony of daily routine. These Fruit and Veggie Bug Snacks are a blast to put together with your kids. Follow along with our tutorial, or use your imagination to make up some new little critters!

This is a great way to introduce or encourage healthy eating with the little ones. This is even a great idea for a party activity, or for a weekend afternoon snack. Just remember, don't get bugged out - these are snacks, not real little insects!

Ingredients:

For the snails

  • Celery stalks
  • Peanut butter or cream cheese, at room temperature
  • Sliced apple
  • Sliced orange
  • Sliced kiwi
  • sliced cucumber
  • Grape tomatoes
  • Cashews

For the caterpillars

  • Celery stalks
  • Peanut butter or cream cheese, at room temperature
  • Grapes
  • Blueberries
  • Grape tomatoes
  • Candy eyes
  • Celery matchsticks

Directions:

To make the snails, fill celery stalks with peanut butter or cream cheese and top with an apple, orange, kiwi, cucumber or tomato shell and a cashew head.
