For her senior thesis project at the Fashion Institute of Technology in New York City, Angelina d'Auguste composed a series of stunning photos of men, women and children with Albinism.
In the United States, one in 18,000 to 20,000 people has some type of albinism. In other countries, it can present itself in one out of ever every 3,000 people. The condition is present in every racial and ethnic group from around the world, and in varying intensities.
As a photographer, d'Auguste uses her lens to tell unconventional stories. She recognizes the struggle that people with Albinism face and hoped to translate that through her work. "Unfortunately, it is difficult for [people with albinism] to fit in society," she tells The Mighty "so I wanted to show their distinct, beautiful features in a positive way."
