Hey, can you tell us about yourself?

Hey, can you tell us about yourself?

We asked our Head of Development Mike D a few questions about his gig here at Shared and a little bit about himself . . .

How long have you been at Shared?

8 years

What were you doing before Shared ?

I had a wide range of roles in the hospitality industry all the way from  beverage alchemist to department manager for multi-million dollar restaurants.

It's where I was able to develop my customer services skills and learn how to network

How would you describe your job?

I build and cultivate mutually beneficial relationships with companies that have similar  values, goals and practices as Shared. Staying on top of industry trends, using them to grow and develop new business.  Social media life moves pretty fast. If you don't stop and click around once in awhile, you could miss it.  I really love to build relationships that benefit both sides.  I get a big thrill out of helping our partners grow and become more successful by working with Shared

What's a typical day for you?

Wake up, have exactly two large black coffees back-to-back and then go head-first into my inbox, stats and goals for the day.  If I'm not at my desk I can usually be found at the foosball table or in a sales call.  Managing the diverse business lines at Shared is engaging and challenging every day but I love what I do and management always comes down to balance. As a manager would I rather be feared or loved? Umm...easy, both. I want people to be afraid of how much they love me.

What three words best describe you?

Curious, Facetious, Cromulent

Personal motto? do you have one?

One must forego the self to obtain total spiritual creaminess, and avoid the chewy chunks of degradation.

The last show you binge watched?

Ozark

What are you currently reading?

I digest an unhealthy amount of sports writing and analytics.

What are you currently listening to?

Thievery Corporation, Radiohead, Sublime, Pearl Jam, Kendrick Lamar, Hall & Oates, Bob Seger, Bonobo, Sylvan Esso, A Tribe Called Quest. I listen to them all at the same time.

When you are not at work what could we find you doing?

I love to play and watch sports, golf, hockey, football and spending time with my family.
