LeBron James is jumping on the reboot craze!
The Cavaliers star and business partner Maverick Carter are producing a new version of the hit 90's film House Party.
The cult comedy features hip-hop duo Kid "˜N Play that debuted in 1990.
James' SpringHill Entertainment production company described the project as a "˜fresh re-imagining' of the original.
The new film is being written by Stephen Glover and Jamal Olori from the FX series "˜Atlanta.'
"˜It's an honor when I got the opportunity to produce it, reboot the whole movie,' James said.
"˜When I was growing up as a youngster I was like, "Man, I hope I get an opportunity to throw one of these house parties, where it's just a lot of fun, a lot of joking around, dancin', people just having a good time".
"˜Everyone I grew up with loved House Party,' he told The Hollywood Reporter.
"˜To partner with this creative team to bring a new House Party to a new generation is unbelievable."
But the 33-year-old noted some of his Cavs teammates might not be too familiar with the original film.
"˜They are too young, I think,' he said of his five teammates under the age of 26. "˜They weren't [born] when it came out.'
He added that he may even make a cameo in the new film himself.
His longtime friend and business partner told the site: "˜We're trying out some ideas for musicians to be cast in and to be a part of the project.'
"˜There's no plan for [LeBron to star] now, but he's a fantastic actor, and if he wants a role, Stephen will find a great role to put him in,' he added.
That same day the NBA superstar scored 37 points as he lead the visiting Cleveland Cavaliers to a 120-112 victory over Oklahoma City Thunder.
