Since her death in 1969, Judy Garland has been in a mausoleum in Hartsdale, New York. However, just last week the remains of the actress have been transported to a new location.
She was transported from the JFK airport in New York to the Los Angeles airport so she could be moved to her new resting place in the Hollywood Forever Cemetery at the request of Liza Minnelli.
Even though it has been almost 50 years since her passing, her daughter decided this was what was best. The Wizard of Oz actress will be buried nearby several other stars including Mickey Rooney, Jay Mansfield and Rudy Valentino.
This decision was made because at the mausoleum in New York, there would not be enough room for Judy's three children to be buried by her side. Also, with Minnelli now living in Los Angeles it makes a bit more sense.
Even after all these years we still miss her.
