Kendall Jenner Responds To Acne Criticism At The Golden Globes

Billboard

Kendall Jenner has finally spoken out after receiving an onslaught of criticism for her appearance at the Golden Globes on Sunday night.

While acne is a nightmare at any age, the 22-year-old strutted on the red carpet for Vogue, to stand in solidarity for the Time's Up movement. Most attendees at the coveted award show wore black to show their support against sexual harassment in Hollywood.

However, while the majority of the audience spent their time ogling the gorgeous gowns and stunning suits, some internet trolls decided to focus on something else.

Social media users not only made jabs at the Keeping Up with the Kardashians star for her presence, but also blasted Jenner on her acne breakout.

Rising above the negativity, Jenner shut down her haters with a single comment.

In response to the unfounded criticism Jenner received to her less than clear appearance, the supermodel responded to a tweet of a fan coming to her defense.

"Ok but @KendallJenner showing up and strutting her acne while looking like a gorgeous star is what every girl needs to understand," the fan wrote.

With just six words, Jenner reiterated those sentiments, and said: "never let that sh*t stop you!"

This isn't the first time she has talked about her breakouts.

In 2015, Jenner discussed on her now defunct app how her poor skin affected her confidence.

"Where it really impacted me was how self-conscious I became about it. It completely ruined my self esteem. I wouldn't even look at people when I talked to them," Jenner wrote. "I felt like such an outcast; when I spoke, it was with my hand covering my face. Sure, I had crushes in high school, but I wouldn't even think about looking at guys."

"What I want everyone to understand is that it's been a process: It wasn't anything that happened overnight. But slowly, I'm working towards not caring, and I'm just in so much of a better place about it all now that I'm older," she added.
