There is nothing more comforting than the taste of warm, baked cookies and a cool glass of milk. The worries of your day seem to melt away with chocolate chips in each sweet, gooey, chewy cookie.
What if you could have that delicious dessert without all the dishes, the mess and the time? What if there was a way to get instantly fresh-baked cookies with just the push of a button?
Now there is!
The CHiP Smart Cookie Oven hopes to do for fresh-baked cookies, what Keurig did for instant coffee.
Just pop the dough out of a single-serve pod and set the machine to bake warm, gooey cookies in less than 10 minutes. It syncs-up with an app on your phone, so all you have to do is scan the QR code on the cookie pod and the machine does the rest.
Basically, an adult Easy-Bake Oven that makes everything from traditional Chocolate Chip to Peanut Butter Nutella Swirl.
Right now the company is raising funds on KickStarter to make the dream a reality. If they reach their goal by December, you'll be able to buy the product for about $249 USD, but the first 500 backers can get it for $99.
There's no mixing, no measuring, no mess.
But also, no baking. At least in the traditional sense.
Home bakers are not impressed with the gadget and their number one complaint is that it takes all the fun out of baking! Some others argue that the machine is to expensive; doesn't make enough cookies for a larger family of, say, 5 people; and that it's not cost effective as users pay more money for fewer cookies.
Here's what they had to say:
What do you think? Would you buy this product or do you prefer to do your baking from scratch?
