Kids Reading To Shelter Cats Collectively Melt Everyone's Heart

Get ready for your daily dose of awwwwwwww!

The Animal Rescue League of Berks County, P.A. has melted hearts after photos of their 'Book Buddies' program made their way to the Internet.

Book Buddies is a volunteer based program where kids can offer to read to sheltered cats. The program encourages kids to read, while also providing company to the shelter cats. And it's stinkin' cute, to boot.

"The program will help children improve their reading skills while also helping the shelter animals. Cats find the rhythmic sound of a voice very comforting and soothing," the shelter explained.

The kids get rewarded after reading 5 books, with stickers, prizes and snacks. They also get to hang out with cats, so that's a win.

Check out these adorable pictures of kids reading to shelter cats. Some sit and listen patiently, while others...well they just do their cat thing.

I wish more shelters would do things like this! Share if you agree!
