Kim Kardashian Pledges To Help Child Sex Slave Victim Who Murdered Her Pimp

You'll usually see Kim Kardashian West in the news if it has something to do with makeup, her children, or her reality TV show.

However, this time she's gone viral for tweeting about a controversial murder case.

Cyntoia Brown had a troubled childhood. She was raped in her youth and forced into prostitution by an abusive pimp, who she said had verbally abused her and made her strip at gunpoint.

One night he forced her out onto the street to make money, where she was picked up by a 43-year-old Nashville real estate agent.

"He grabbed me in-between my legs - he just grabbed it real hard," Cyntoia told the trial court. "I'm thinking he's going to hit me or do something like it..."

According to the 16-year-old, when Allen turned her over and reached towards the side of the bed, she thought he was going to reach for a gun, so she shot him in the head with a handgun that was given to her by her pimp.

Despite having pleaded self-defence, Cyntoia was tried as an adult and the jury found her guilty of first-degree premeditated murder, first-degree felony murder, and aggravated robbery (because she fled with his wallet and guns). She won't be eligible for parole until the age of 67.

Now a decade later, her case has gone viral on social media.

Famous celebrities like Rihanna, T.I., Cara Delivigne, and Kim Kardashian are shedding new light on the case using their social media platforms.

Kim is calling for Cyntoia Brown to be released...

Earlier this week, Kim tweeted a promise that she'd help Cyntoia Brown, who is now 29-years-old and famously known for being a sex trafficking survivor.

"The system has failed," Kim tweeted to more than 55 million followers. "It's heart breaking to see a young girl sex trafficked then when she has the courage to fight back is jailed for life! We have to do better & do what's right. I've called my attorneys yesterday to see what can be done to fix this. #FreeCyntoiaBrown."

Kim's powerful legal team, which includes attorney Shawn Holley, will work diligently to help Cyntoia, and also Alice Johnson, a 62-year-old woman serving 21 years in prison for a non-violent drug offence.

Holley said he has scheduled a conference call to begin discussions regarding Cyntoia's case.
