This mama dog is the definition of a "good girl."
A forest fire in Chile ripped through coastal region of Valparaiso, killing at least one person and forcing countless others out of their homes.
But what could have been deadly for this mother pup, now nicknamed Blacky, and her babies got a happy ending. The quick-thinker dug a hole for her puppies and pushed them all inside.
Blacky ran for cover herself and waited until the fire was out before getting help to rescue her family.
Once it was safe to do so, the mother dog led volunteers back to her pit where they all were pulled from rubble and brought to safety.
All nine puppies survived the blaze and are doing well, thanks to the quick thinking and brave act by their mother!
Now, local residents are offering to adopt the puppies and give them a safe place to live. Talk about a happy ending!
