Man Loses 330lbs by Walking to Walmart

Pat Brocco's doctor told him if he didn't change his lifestyle, he would die. At 605lbs, Brocco had high blood pressure and high cholesterol that were putting his life in danger.

Brocco says he immediately went home and took a picture of himself in the mirror.

"My stomach was down to my thighs. My chest was hanging down here," he told ABC News, pointing to his stomach. "I was disgusted."

He decided he needed to make a change. Every time Brocco got hungry, he would walk to the nearest Walmart and back, then come home and eat. The nearest Walmart happened to be a mile away.

""You walk to Walmart three times a day, and you end up walking 6 miles," he said. "It's amazing because I never walked 6 miles in my life, and I was doing it every day."

Brocco had to change up his diet in addition to his exercise regime.

Before weight loss (about 11,200 calories per day):

  • Box of cereal
  • 1/2 gallon whole milk
  • 1 package peanut butter cups
  • 1 candy bar
  • 12-inch meatball and cheese submarine sandwich
  • 100 fast food chicken nuggets
  • 1 fast food apple pie
  • 1 fast food milkshake
  • 2 liters soda
  • 4 doughnuts

After weight loss (about 2,250 calories per day):

  • 2 gallons water
  • About 20 egg whites
  • 1 cup oatmeal
  • 24 ounces chicken breast
  • Green beans
  • 6 ounces ground lean bison
  • 32 almonds
  • 1/2 sweet potato
"Once I figured out dairy was my downfall, I took it out of my diet, and instantly I started losing weight again," he said.

Brocco lost 200lbs in less than two years with this method. He then swapped his Walmart walk for weights at the gym. Now 330lbs lighter, Brocco had to have 30lbs of excess skin removed, which he was more than happy to do. It meant he was successful in his journey.

Brocco used to go by the name Fat Pat, but it has since switched to Possible Pat. Brocco says he's setting an example for his 1-year-old son so that he can one day be a Possible Pat too.
