Meghan Markle faced quite the scare when her beloved beagle broke two of his legs.

While it's unknown how Markle's dog, Guy, sustained his injuries, he's under the care of renowned veterinary surgeon Noel Fitzpatrick, Daily Mail reports.

Sources close to Markle have said while she's been "distraught" and "very upset" by her dog's turmoil, Prince Harry has been by his fiancée's side while she's been making her hospital visits.

During the couple's engagement interview, Markle said she moved Guy into their new home in England earlier this year, while her other dog, a labrador-shepherd mix named Bogart, stayed behind.

"I have two dogs that I've had for quite a long time, both my rescue pups. And one is now staying with very close friends and my other little guy is - yes, he's in the UK, he's been here for a while," Markle said. "I think he's doing just fine."

While Guy's backstory is unknown, Markle told Best Health magazine how an unexpected encounter with Ellen DeGeneres and Portia de Rossi convinced her to adopt Bogart.

"Now, I don't now her, but Ellen goes 'Is that your dog?' And I said, 'No,' and she's like, 'You have to take that dog.' And I said, 'Well, I'm deciding.' And she's like, 'Rescue the dog!'" Meghan recalled.

"It's sort of like if Oprah tells you to do something. I'm sitting there holding him and she's like 'Have you thought of a name for him yet?' And I said, 'Well, I think I'd name him Bogart,' and she's like "˜You're taking the dog home,'" Markle continued.

"And she walks outside to get into her car but instead of getting in she turns around and comes and taps on the window glass and she yells 'Take the dog!' And so I brought him home. Because Ellen told me to," she added.

Her dogs aren't the only pups who've been charmed by Markle, as she's also won over Queen Elizabeth II's corgis as well.

"The corgis took to her straight away," Harry said during the couple's engagement interview. "I've spent the last 33 years being barked at - this one walks in, absolutely nothing."

Markle replied, "They were laying on my feet during tea!"

"Just wagging tails - and I was just like, argh," Harry added.

It's clear that Markle is an animal lover, so we're wishing Guy has a full recovery!
