Mick Jagger's New Son Has A Unique Name

Maybe the 73 year-old rocker is just running out of ideas after having eight children, because his new son's name is a little "on-the-nose."

Jagger and American ballerina Melanie Hamrick welcomed their child Deveraux Octavian Basil Jagger on December 8th.

Deveraux is a French name without a significant meaning, and Basil is the first name of Jagger's late father, but Octavian is a Latin word that literally means "eighth born."

Elizabeth Jagger, one of Mick's seven other children, announced the new baby's name in an Instagram post that she's since deleted.

Deveraux's arrival means that Jagger now has eight chidren between five different wives and lovers, as well as four grandchildren and one great-granddaughter.

Jagger reportedly flew from London to New York to be at Hamrick's side during Deveraux's birth, but the two are not planning to remain a couple. Instead, Jagger has already pledged  to pay Hamrick child support every year, as well as cover the cost of Deveraux's education and buying a new house for the two of them.

A press release from the couple say that both the mother and child are healthy and doing well.

What do you think? Is this name inspired, or just silly?
