Mark Ross got a call no one wants to get. At 3 a.m. he received the call that his sister had been killed in a car accident. He needed to get home to Detroit to be with his family but he had no vehicle. He was able to find someone to bring him as fast as possible but unfortunately their speed drew the attention of the cops. They were pulled over in Ohio and Ross knew they were in trouble.
The Trooper took the driver into custody for driving with a suspended license and Ross was left stranded. He thought he was going to end up in trouble as well because there was also a warrant for him, but when Sergeant David Robinson arrived on scene he tried to plead his case.
I explained to the officer that my sister had died and that I needed to get to my mother asap.- Mark Ross
Now it's safe to assume that cops hear a lot of excuses, but Sergeant Robinson didn't react the same way that so many others would have.
He REACHES OVER AND BEGAN PRAYING OVER ME AND MY FAMILY. He offered to bring me 100 miles further to Detroit because they towed the vehicle.- Mark Ross
Robinson drove Ross the 100 miles to Detroit so that he could be there with his family and even promised to return to attend the funeral.
