The World Is Ending For Oregonians Who Will Now Have To Pump Their Own Gas

You may not know everything about the car you drive, but most people can safely put on a seat belt, adjust their mirrors, and change their headlight fluid.

But life is about to get a whole lot harder for drivers in Oregon now that a new bill has been passed.

This year, lawmakers in the Beaver State added and removed a wide array of new rules that affects many different types of people, but only one has car owners up in arms. A self-serve gas law that prevented drivers from pumping their own fuel has been repealed and it has left many people worried about operating their vehicles.

The funny thing is, very few people actually noticed these changes to the laws until one news station asked drivers how they felt about these new rules.

And they had some passionate thoughts.

The news station made a post on Facebook asking their viewers if they agreed with the new laws.

They have so far received over 40,000 comments, and while it seems most people are okay with the change, the ones who disagree are pretty vocal about it.

"I don't even know HOW to pump gas and I am 62, native Oregonian ... I say NO THANKS! I don't want to smell like gasoline!"

"Many people are not capable of knowing how to pump gas and the hazards of not doing it correctly. Besides I don't want to go to work smelling of gas when I get it on my hands or clothes. I agree Very bad idea."

"Yuck! Pumping my [own] fuel in freezing temperatures and handling a nasty ole fuel nozzle that 50 other people have touched that day (and who knows what cooties are on there), no thank you. It's nice to not have to pump your own fuel."

While their concerns are probably very heartfelt, if you've been pumping your own gas throughout your driving career, then you'll probably find yourself smirking at their exaggerated worries.

The responses from outsiders are just as hilarious!

"FEAR NOT OREGON!!!! I've decided to move to Oregon to open a school to teach people how to pump their own gas ... I understand Oregon, adulting is hard and sometimes you [need] someone to show you how. I'm here for you."

"Apparently there's an entire state of people in America who are incapable of filling their own car with petrol."

For those concerned about the elderly or disabled, just because the law has been repealed doesn't mean there aren't staff available, so you can still get help pumping your gas.

Share this with someone from Oregon and see how they feel about this new change!
