Oscar the tabby is a 10-year-old cat with paranormal abilities. Although he mostly keeps to himself at the nursing home in Rhode Island where he resides with elderly tenants, he has a special place in his heart for the terminally ill.
At first, the staff didn't think to much of Oscar. He usually kept to himself and wasn't very affectionate with them. But then Dr. Dosa, a geriatrician, noticed something peculiar about Oscar's behavior.
Oscar always seemed to know when a patient was about to die. His supernatural ability has predicted over 100 deaths in the past 10 years.
In their final moments, a patient is visited by Oscar, the angel cat of death. He calmly curls up next to them, or by their window, and sees them through to the other side.
"He only comes to the 'end of life' patients who are near death, I think he is attracted in some capacity to them," Dr. Dosa told Mirror Online.
For many terminal patients, Oscar's presence is a welcome sight. Many have no family to be with them in their final moments, so Oscar's quiet nature is a comfort. They never die alone.
