Paul Sorvino Makes Public Threat To Harvey Weinstein

Harvey Weinstein has become public enemy number one ever since the flood gates opened and it was shown that he was one of, if not the worst, of all the Hollywood sexual predators using his power and influence to get his way with women.

The New York Times

The list of names of the women that he harassed and assaulted continues to grow, and there is no telling just how many names will be on that list when it is all said and done. But there is now one name publicly on that list that I bet he wishes wasn't there at the moment, Mira Sorvino.

The Hollywood Reporter

Sorvino won an Oscar for her role in the 1996 movie Mighty Aphrodite, and it was while she was busy promoting the film that her encounter with Weinstein took place. He followed her into a hotel room and started massaging her shoulders before trying to take it to the next level. She scorned his advances and it turns out that Weinstein and his brother started a campaign to smear her reputation afterwards.

When Sorvino's father, actor Paul Sorvino, found out about what had transpired he issued a very public threat to Weinstein.

You may remember Paul Sorvino from his role as a gangster in the classic movie Goodfellas, and his portrayal of an Italian mobster should give Weinstein cause for concern, especially after the statement he made to reporters.

"He ought to hope he goes to jail, because if we come across [each other], I think he'll be lying on the floor, somehow, magically," said Sorvino. "Oh, yeah. That son-of-a-bitch better hope that he goes, because if he doesn't, he'll have to meet me, and I will kill that motherf***er, it's real simple."

Peter Jackson, the director of the wildly successful Lord of the Rings trilogy confirmed Weinstein's campaign against Mira Sorvino when he called her to apologize for going along with it.

"There it is, confirmation that Harvey Weinstein derailed my career, something I suspected but was unsure," Sorvino wrote in a tweet.

Paul Sorvino did try and reign in his fury towards the end of his statement when he told TMZ that, "I'll just slap him around a little, I won't do anything terrible."
