Mom Pulls Double Duty For Her Son's "Dads And Doughnuts" Event

What would you do to show your kids you love them? Most parents say they'd do anything for their kids, but it takes a lot of guts to actually step outside of your comfort zone.

That's exactly what Whitney Kittrell from Utah did last week. Her son, who's in kindergarten, brought home a flyer for a "Dads and Doughnuts" event his class was having. Kittrell is a single mom, and she says her heart "kinda sank" when she saw the flyer.

She asked her son if he wanted his Grandpa to take him, but according to Kittrell he said no. "I want you to go. You're my mom and dad," he said, so she did.

Kittrell put on her "best dad outfit," including a baseball cap, baggy sweatpants and a t-shirt, and painted on some facial hair to complete the costume.

Even though she felt embarrassed, Kittrell's son was happy to introduce her to all his friends. She says when the event was over he gave her a hug and kiss, saying "Mom... I know that you'll always be there and do anything for me. Thank you. I love you."

Kittrell shared this touching story on Facebook, and people were impressed by her loving attitude. Lots of people commented to tell her what a great parent she was.

It can be hard to go the extra mile for your kids, but this story shows how rewarding it is!
