Pumpkin Rice Krispie Treats Are a Creative Fall Treat

Everybody loves Rice Krispie treats - kids, teens, and adults. Who can resist the ooey gooey marshmallow with a little crunch and sweetness?

This recipe for Pumpkin Rice Krispie Treats is both adorable and delicious. Warm Rice Krispie treats are beautifully moldable, and easy to turn into mini pumpkins with a couple of kids helping out. Roll into a ball, stick in a Tootsie Roll and the "stem," and these are good to eat. Enjoy!

Ingredients:

  • 6 cups Rice Krispie cereal
  • 3 tablespoons butter
  • 10 ounces marshmallows (approximately 1 bag)
  • Red and yellow food coloring (to make orange color)
  • 12 Tootsie Rolls
  • 1 green Airhead candy (or other pliable green candy)

Directions:

Melt your butter in a large sauce pan over low heat.

Add marshmallows and stir constantly until melted.

Remove from heat.

Add approx 4 drops of red food coloring and 2 drops yellow food coloring (add coloring until you have a nice bright orange color).

Mix in Rice Krispies.

Form small balls into the shape of a pumpkin (add non-stick cooking spray to your hands before forming your balls).

Cut Tootsie Roll in half and add a half into each pumpkin while still warm. Cut small leaves from your green candy and attach.
