By coloring the roots of your hair with a bright purple, you will definitely stand out and make a statement. We joined our friends at Texture Hair Salon and watched as Ziad El-Zoor gave this lucky lady a pigmented hair style, Ramsey Sayah did the cut and makeup artist Taryn Miller finished off the makeover. .
Check out how they did it all below and see if purple roots are going to be your next look!
Because our model had darker hair, Ziad had to bleach out her roots to begin. He didn't need to get it quite as white as he had with both the blue and grey looks, but it was lightened enough that you would be able to see the purple easily.
He applied the bleach just towards the top few inches of hair, pulling it down a bit after all the roots were covered so it would blend into the rest of her hair smoothly.
The rinsed out the bleach, and revealed her new lighter roots that would be perfect for applying a bright purple!
Now, he began to apply the purple into the roots, making sure the color covered all of the blonde.
Then he added the color to the rest of her hair, all the way down to the tips. This will create a smooth blend all the way down, where the roots will show up super bright and it will become more subtle towards the ends of her hair.
After it was fully absorbed into her hair Ramsey gave her a quick trim.
Then it was time to style it and reveal the gorgeous color Ziad was able to achieve.
She was quite happy with the look, and excited to see her hair with a completely new style.
It's a cool way to try out a color without having to bleach your entire head. Also, because you aren't bleaching the already damaged tips there is less chance that your hair will feel brittle. The roots of your hair will be able to handle the bleach and you will be able to try out those colors you always wanted!
What do you think? Would you rock some bright purple roots?
