The very first litter of sand kittens was born at Ramat Gan Safar Parkin Tel Aviv, Israel and they are adorable! It was a risky move to leave Ramat, the female sand, cat alone one night in the enclosure with her new mate Kalahari. She had been giving her new beau the cold shoulder for almost a year and zoo keepers were worried that she would become violent if they weren't monitored.
Seems like it was well worth the risk! To everyone's surprise, Ramat emerged with three tiny babies blinking in the sunlight. What makes these wild furballs extra special is that the species was once considered extinct in Israel. Is there anything more precious than a furball baby? We can't get enough of those little ears!
