In a new post by Mental Health on The Mighty, high-functioning anxiety is finally given a face and a name. It is a running dialogue that constantly questions your value, your ability and your worth. Imagine that someone stood beside you every waking moment of your day, telling you that you weren't good enough. It would be exhausting.
MIllions of sufferers reacted to the video, with comments that exclaimed - finally, someone gets it!
According to the Anxiety and Depression Association of America (ADAA), anxiety disorder is the most common mental illness in the U.S. and it affects 40 million adults. Although anxiety is highly treatable, only about one-third of sufferers actually receive treatment.
