Christmas is coming, and finding the perfect gift is sometimes a real struggle. Shopping in stores is a nightmare, shopping online can sometimes be a risk if it doesn't arrive in time, and really, trying to find something that feels like you put the effort in is tricky!

Wouldn't it be easier if you could just find something to make for your friends and family so they know just how much you care? Putting the effort into a DIY gift really shows people that you appreciate them and on top of that, you can guarantee no one else will get them the same gift!

So stay out of the stores this season and check out these 12 DIY Christmas gifts that you can make in the comfort of your own home!


1. Make Your Own Door Mat

You could paint whatever you want on one of the plain door mats that you can find at stores like Ikea. Make something for your friend that is suited to their interests or favorite colors! Check out the tutorial here.

3. Arm Knitting a Blanket

5. Mermaid blankets

6. A present for the devoted dog parents

You can recreate this so easily for all the dog moms and dads on your Christmas list! Somewhere to hang the leash and maybe keep some extra treats is always appreciated. A small piece of wood, some stain, a mason jar and a hook is all it takes! Customize it with their name and hey, if you want to make it really personal maybe try and get their dogs paw print on there if you can!

7. Christmas Tea Tree

You can't go wrong with a scarf! Blanket scarves are the best thing right now, because the temperatures are getting colder and we need any sneaky way we can find to walk around in a comforter. This is about as close as you can get while still looking like an adult. A Blanket scarf will keep you warm and toasty whether you are out and about or even in the chilly office.
