Starbucks may have made a name for itself as a coffee chain but don't let that fool you. In addition to its coffee-based drinks, the Seattle-based international chain offers a wide selection of baked goods, smoothies, and tea-infused beverages.
Starbucks continues to stay on top of the game by experimenting with new items on their menu such as the Internet-breaking Unicorn Frappuccino, Pink Drink and Midnight Mint Mocha Frappuccino. Following up on the success of those drinks, the company is rolling out some more tasty drinks and they'll be added to the permanent menu.
The coffee experts are giving the Cascara latte, a favorite from last winter, the summer treatment. They've released an Iced Cascara Coconut Milk Latte, an espresso drink with Cascara syrup (coffee cherry extract) and coconut milk, served over ice.
However, the most exciting additions to the menu are the refreshing new tea-infused beverages. The three swoon-worthy Teavana shaken iced tea drinks are made with a blend of "botanicals and fruit" for an "enhanced, perfectly balanced" taste.
“Freshly steeped botanicals have subtle flavors that don’t overpower the pure and simple notes of tea, which then have a chance to shine through,” said Megan Droz, a Starbucks product developer.
The new drinks are free of artificial flavors and sweeteners and a Grande will only set you back 45 calories. You can also choose to customize any of the iced tea infusions with flavors like pineapple, peach citrus or strawberry according to the statement.
To spread the good news and celebrate the release of the summer-inspired drinks, Starbucks is giving fans a free taste this week!
