The ways of the world don't make sense when it comes to matters of death, but some people make sure to enjoy every last breath of life before they pass on.

A Florida teenager, just one day before his 18th birthday, was diagnosed with a rare form of cancer. However, life wasn't going to end right there for Dustin Snyder, one of the happiest days of his life was yet to come.

Snyder wasn't the only one to first think of the love of his life when he learned his days were numbered. Heather Mosher, from Connecticut, passed away from breast cancer only 18 hours after her wedding. Her story went viral when she and her fiance wedded early.

"It reminds me of someone who is crossing the finish line of a marathon or something," David Mosher told WFSB. "Nobody thought she would've made it that far. She proved them all wrong and that's what that photo says to me."

Synder also had a similar dying wish, that he and his high school sweetheart could be bonded even long after his death.

His wish came true on the weekend, and the love story between this couple is heartwrenching and inspiring.

The 19-year-old has been battling with synovial sarcoma, a rare cancer that affects the soft tissue, on and off since his 18th birthday. Doctors had to surgically remove a lung and put him on chemotherapy. Not long after he was declared cancer-free.

A year later, Synder was rushed to hospital with abdominal pain, and doctors discovered that the cancer had spread to his stomach and pelvis.

Then he received the news that he and his loved ones were dreading: there's no cure or treatment for his illness. He was only given weeks to live.

In a time of despair, the first person that crossed the young man's mind was the first love his life: Sierra Siverio. They dated for awhile in middle school, but lost touch. The couple reunited in their final year of high school.

"Sierra means the world to me. Everything. Can't even describe it in words," he said. "She was there with me since the beginning and I couldn't imagine being with anyone else."

"If two people love each other and they want to be together for the rest of their lives, why can't they be?" Siverio added. "I'm going to be there for him no matter what and I'm really excited for this opportunity."

Their viral GoFundMe campaign is less than a thousand dollars away from their $40,000 goal.

"We have made our goal for the wedding but any extra will be going for the cost for when the day comes for Dustin to be at rest," Synder's sister wrote. "I love and appreciate everyone so much."

The couple tied the knot on Sunday, January 28.
